Residential Requirements

The Wing House will serve individuals with mild to moderate brain injuries who exhibit cognitive impairments and behaviors which do not allow them to live independently. Individuals served would be ones in need of a structured environment which provides supportive supervision and behavioral intervention.

Additional requirement criteria includes:

The Wing House will offer services to individuals who meet the following admission, and continued stay criteria:

  1. Residents must be 18 years or older.
  2. Residents must not be considered to be a danger to them selves or others.
  3. Residents must have a medical diagnosis of TBI or of a neurological deficit.
  4. Residents must be willing to exhibit 2 way communications, and able to express their basic needs.
  5. Residents must be willing and able to participate in behavioral management and cognitive training where needed to assist them to behave in a manner acceptable to community standards.
  6. Residents must be able to ambulate with or without assistive devices (such as a wheelchair or walker). Residents must be able to transfer independently if they use assistive devices to ambulate.
  7. Residents must be continent of bowel. Residents who are incontinent of urine must be willing and able to manage their incontinence independently. Residents who are incontinent of bladder may not be admitted if they must use and indwelling catheter.
  8. Residents must be in stable health. Residents must submit a statement from their physician dated no more than thirty (30) days prior to the admission date, which indicates the resident is in stable health and is able to participate in Wing House daily activities.
  9. Residents must be able to meet the funding requirements for the Wing House residency.
    • Residents must be on the TBI Waiver or have county funding at or above the TBI Waiver rate (for example CADI Conversion) at the time of admission.
    • OR residents must be funded by a similar program from another sate which meets or exceeds the limits of the TBI Waiver funding.
    • OR residents (or a responsible family member, or trust) must be able to meet the funding requirements for private pay. Rates are determined by case mix and resident needs.
  10. Residents are required to give a thirty (30) day notice when planning their discharge from Wing House.
